bleu

blue (looking up)
hello tout le monde! i have been working sixty hours a week these past few weeks, so i apologize for stopping by and then disappearing again.

lately i have been trying to see my photographs a bit differently. i am always concerned by the images themselves, but i have a tendency to group things by process, and not visual impact. for example, on my portfolio i group things by film type or where i took the photo, not image captured. i don’t know why i tend to do this, but for whatever reason i’ve always valued the process as much (if not more) than the end result. but i think to become a better photographer, i need to make sure i am thinking about both.

the visual connection i found above is a basic one (colour!) and i am hoping to get a bit better at this. there are so many photographers and bloggers who are so good at finding connections between images that transcend space and time. i have a project going with a lovely friend that i have abandoned for a bit (i lost my new digital camera cord for awhile, which has been incredibly annoying), but i am hoping that it will serve the same purpose. wish me luck!

Such interesting thoughts. I always feel the need to group photos in some sort of chronological way, or at least to post photos together that were taken on the same day/same walk/same trip/etc. I like that you’re thinking about this grouping process since you’re making me think more about it, too.
